Filament Eruption and CME |
A northern hemisphere filament eruption beginning at 03:00 UTC (Nov 5) was responsible for a coronal mass ejection (CME) observed in the latest LASCO coronagraph imagery. Based on this imagery and updated modelling, the plasma cloud looks to be directed mostly away from our planet with only a very minor passage possible by November 8th. Geomagnetic storming from this event is unlikely. More updates in the days ahead if necessary. Video below courtesy of SDO/LASCO C2. |
